Welcome to ClickDose! The newsletter that hits your marketing dopamine receptors harder than a "your ad was approved" notification.

In today’s edition:

  • 🥃 The Dr. Squatch ad where the product barely matters, and the freebie does all the selling.

  • 🤖 We fed that ad's formula into our own AI tool and rebuilt it for two brands that don't exist.

  • 🔍 Meta passes Google, Google bribes websites back, and YouTube tests longer unskippable ads.

🥃 The "Free Gift" That's Quietly the Whole Funnel
Stop discounting. Start bribing them with something worth screenshotting.

🧠 The Setup
Dr. Squatch is running an ad where the product barely matters.
(Yeah, the same soap brand Unilever just paid $1.5B for.)
The star is a flask molded to look exactly like a stick of deodorant.
New customers get it half off if they grab two deodorants with it.
So the flask reels you in, and the deodorant quietly pays the bills.

🖼 The Visual
Static, vertical, almost lazy-simple. Which is the point.
Wood table, one big line ("YO, SECRET FLASK"), three products, a couple of scrappy yellow callouts. No model, no fancy edit. They put the weird thing on a table and let it do the talking.

Why It Works

  • The freebie is the hook. You don't need a slick video when the gift is a flask pretending to be deodorant. People stop for that on their own.

  • A bribe beats a discount. Nobody screenshots "20% off" for the group chat. They absolutely send the flask.

  • It sells itself for them. "Hide your sip in plain sight" hands every buyer a little story to repeat. Word-of-mouth they're not paying for.

  • It knows exactly who it's talking to. "Immaculate vibes," the whole tone. So dialed to their guy that the natural-formula stuff just quietly clears the objections.

🛠 How to Steal It (ethically)

  • Swap the coupon for an object. Something cheap, on-brand, and a little weird you can give near cost. Swag nobody wants doesn't count.

  • Run the spine: "Free [weird thing] when you grab your first [bundle]." The freebie gets the click, the bundle keeps your margin.

  • Give the gift a story. A built-in use-case turns your customers into your ad team.

  • Lock it to new buyers. "New customer exclusive" means you're buying acquisition, not handing discounts to people already reaching for their card.

🤖 AI That Actually Ships

We rebuilt this week's flask ad for two brands that don't exist. Total time: under 5 minutes.

🧠 The Setup

That Dr. Squatch ad isn't just a clever offer. Look at the creative itself: wood table, one fat headline, a couple of marker arrows, scrappy yellow callouts. That's a formula. And formulas travel.

So we asked a dumb question: could we feed that exact look into a tool and rebuild it for any brand, in any industry, on command?

Turns out, yes. We built an in-house creative engine we call ClickDose Creative HQ. Drop in a brand, describe the winning formula, and it ships the ad.

🖼 What It Made

Same flask formula. Two made-up brands. Two industries that have nothing to do with each other.

FUSE - a hot sauce bottle disguised as a stick of dynamite. "YO, LIGHT IT UP." Marker arrow, dashed box, "FREE WICK WITH 3-PACK" in highlighter. One prompt.

GOOD BOY - a dog supplement packaged like a craft beer. "YO, HIS HAPPY HOUR." Same arrows, same highlighter, same scrappy feel. The formula didn't care that it switched industries.

🛠 How To Run This Yourself

You don't need our tool. You need the system:

  1. Bottle the formula, not the ad. Flat-lay, slang headline, marker callouts, a product with a twist.

  2. Feed it a brand and a gag. "What's my product secretly disguised as?" That's the whole creative.

  3. Generate, then tighten. First pass gets you 90%. Swap the headline, fix the offer, ship it to testing.

💀 Bottom Line

A winning ad isn't a one-off. It's a template wearing a costume. Take the costume off and you can run the same proven structure across every brand you touch.

🔍 Founder Finds

📊 Meta Just Passed Google. For the first time, eMarketer has Meta taking more digital ad revenue than Google in its latest forecast. Where the attention goes, the budget follows.

🔎 Google Is Bribing Websites Back. After AI Overviews cut search referrals about 33% globally, Google shipped updates to push more traffic back to real websites in this AI Overviews walk-back.

🎬 YouTube Is Testing Long Unskippable Ads. Brace your audience and your CPMs: YouTube is trialing longer unskippable ad slots, betting attention beats annoyance, in this week's roundup.

🛠 Tool: BrandMov. Live watchlists of any brand's running Meta ads, sorted by what's actually scaling, plus swipe files you can lift from. Basically how you find your next Ad Breakdown before your competitors do. Take it for a spin.

👋 That’s A Wrap!
